---- So let's get things straight? ----

--- I'm not hahahhaah ---

So, since the banning of artist kind'a alarmed us esp. the ones we follow, I decided to go look for DA's faqs about posting mature contents.

How does the Mature Content option work?

The Mature Content option hides or shows deviations that contain potentially offensive material such as nudity and violence.
Enabling or disabling this option on your Settings page, in the Browsing section, will reveal or conceal all submissions currently tagged as Mature Content.
Mature Content is automatically concealed from any visitor who is not currently logged into a deviantART account.

Does a Mature Content tag make it safe for me to submit whatever I want?

No.
The addition of a mature content tag does not allow a deviation to ignore existing rules or restrictions and does not allow you to submit materials which are prohibited under the deviantART Terms of Service (such as pornographic content); such materials will still be removed by our staff.

Is posting 'Adult' oriented artwork alright if I censor it first?

As outlined in our Official Nudity Policy there are certain materials which we do not consider appropriate for submission here at deviantART.
Attempts to submit "Adult", obscene, or pornographic works which have been slightly edited though blurring, cropping or the addition of any form of censoring block will be treated in the same manner as the submission of an uncensored work if the voluntary censoring is deemed insufficient or lacking by the reviewing staff member.
Inadequate self-censoring will not allow an otherwise "Adult", obscene or pornographic work to remain in the deviantART galleries. All such works will be removed immediately as they come to the attention of the deviantART staff.
Also be aware that you may not provide offsite links to any sort of pornographic material; doing so can result in immediate administrative action as it come to the attention of the deviantART staff. These restrictions apply to active and stored deviantART submissions, sta.sh submissions, PCP files, etc.

What are deviantART's policies on nudity?

Submissions depicting nudity are allowed providing that the model is eighteen (18) years of age or older and providing that the image is not determined to be obscene or pornographic as detailed elsewhere in the FAQ.
All images containing nudity must be tagged as Mature Content upon submission. The deviantART staff reserves the right to mark any work with a general mature content tag if it is deemed by that staff member to require one.
We strongly recommend that photographers submitting photographs of nude models have signed model release form documentation on record. While providing model release forms is not mandatory the deviantART administration reserves the right to demand such documentation at any time and to remove any work for which it is demanded but not provided.
Photographs and other works depicting models under the legal age of eighteen (18) may be subject to restrictions.

You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic imagery'; what do you consider this to be?

When we mention 'pornographic content' in our policies we are specifically referring to specific subjects which we will clarify below. These restrictions apply to active and stored deviantART submissions, sta.sh submissions, PCP files, etc.
We apologize if the descriptions below are slightly graphic.
The following contents are considered unacceptable for submission in either visual art or literature form and will be subjected to immediate removal without notice.
• Masturbation
Hands should not come into contact with genitalia in a manner which is clearly a display of fondling or masturbation.
• Sexual Intercourse.
Subjects should not be depicted in a clear display of sexual intercourse. This includes depictions of sexual penetration, oral to genital contact, genital to anal contact, and oral to anal contact without exception. Some depictions of same sex genital to genital contact and some depictions of oral to breast contact might qualify under this guideline as adjudicated by staff but not all will be considered an automatic violation of policy.
• Vaginal, Penile or Anal Penetration
This includes depictions of any object being inserted into the vagina, penis or anus.
• Sexual body fluids (actual or simulated).
There should be no depiction of semen or vaginal lubricants.
• Erections.
There should be no use of imagery depicting an erect penis, however there may be exceptions granted to illustrations created for legitimate medical or educational purposes.
• Vaginal or Anal Spreading
Female subjects should not be depicted with their labia spread or parted in any manner by hand or manipulated open or parted by any other artificial means or object. Neither sex should show the anus manually opened in a similar fashion.
• Adult oriented (sexual) toys.
"Adult toys" consisting of dildos, strap-ons, vibrators, and similar items which are crafted to realistically represent a phallus or "receptive" vagina are not allowed. Items and devices which do not depict a male or female organ in a realistic fashion will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for acceptability in a submission.
Submissions which are judged to be in violation of these guidelines will be removed without prior warning. Users found submitting such content may have their account banned or suspended without warning. Also be aware that we prohibit providing any outside link to another website which provides access to the material described above.

---- My thoughts? ----

--- Seriously, i dont get it... ---

Like Ahnand's latest journal ( fav.me/d7wgp6c ), I dont understand why those images above haven't been taken down or the artist behind them get banned. So, Undies and topless drawings of guys are ok, as long as it doesn't depict obvious sexual ideas or never show the genitals at all. Then why Zephleit got banned with just 1 drawing posted 2 years ago? Cropping the image seems to be a NO -NO too unless if the scene is obviously inappropriate.

Providing links are also mentioned, which reminds me of one incident on Black Monkey-Pro that someone reported them about the outgoing links for their products. (If my memory is correct). As for me, I cropped my pictures if someone commissioned me for something that I might break DA's policy but never provide any direct link. I just say "look for me at Pixiv" hahahaha I do try to keep in mind if what ever I post or crop is ok with DA. If i feel a bit uncomfortable with posting in DA then go check mypixiv and ask for "MyPixiv" hehehe

I'll be reviewing some of my works that I placed at storage and see if I violate anything and I'll be more careful in posting previews hehehe

Whenever DA tries to pull shit like this on you, remind them of their own rules. They can't argue with the very rules they're supposed to enforce.
